We advocate the use of corrosion inhibitors in conjunction with the pigging project. By doing so you help insure clean water and the elimination of flow restricting tuberculation.

Transmission Water Lines
Miles of transmission water mains are cleaned with poly-pigs without the expense of temporary by-pass water service. Specified flow is restored to municipal pipelines without damage to inner pipe wall or joints that can be experienced when using other systems. Miles of transmission mains can be cleaned for a fraction of the cost of other methods. Because our pigs can be equipped with tracking devices for exact location, we can perform projects "on-line" with minimum interruption of service to the client. Our experience with supplying and erecting temporary holding lagoons to capture pipeline sludge is another reason to look to Montauk.

Waste Water Force Mains
There is no better method of keeping a force main clean. Pigs can be launched at the pump station and retrieved at a manhole. This process can be done without by-pass and insures that older mains are running at "like new" capacity. This system is the most cost effective and efficient method available to resolve force main capacity problems and to reduce pumping costs. When it comes to new construction, which is usually built oversized to accommodate future flows, pigging can be used to eliminate H2s and the associated odor. Another plus is that pigs will remove flow restricting air from any system.

Intake/Outfall Pipelines
Large diameter lake intake and ocean outfalls can be pigged to remove restricting sludge, zebra mussels, and other marine growth. Because the pigs float they are easily retrieved. Pigging allows cities and industries an effective and inexpensive method to restore and maintain optimal flow.

Most pressure piping associated with a WWTP can be pigged. Once Montauk has finished the initial cleaning, the client can purchase the appropriate equipment and conduct preventative maintenance with their own personnel.
